In 1Samuel 31, there was a battle between the Philistines and the Israelites, and things got bad for Saul, he lost three sons, Jonathan, Abinadab and Malki-Shua. The Christian Life is a race, it is not how you start the race, it is the finish line that counts.

Application:
Saul's life had a promising start, but it went spiraling downhill, when he harbored jealousy, murder in his heart for David. This is a wasted life. We need to learn for m Saul because if we keep evil thoughts in our hearts and do not deal with it it can conceive into actions. We need to confess them to the Lord.
