In 1Samuel 30, when David and his men had reached Ziklag. The Amakelites had raided Ziklag and had kidnapped the women and children of David and his men. David and his men destroyed the Amakelites and rescued them.

Application:
David and his men were face with this tragedy of their families kidnapped from the Amakelites. His men werelooking for someone to blame and they wanted to stone him. David turned to the Lord in prayer (v. 8) for guidance and support. If we laeran anyting from this passage is to go to God IMMEDIATELY in prayer and give the situation to HIm.

Verses to meditate on:
7 Then David said to Abiathar the priest, the son of Ahimelech, "Bring me the ephod." Abiathar brought it to him, 8 and David inquired of the LORD, "Shall I pursue this raiding party? Will I overtake them?"
"Pursue them," he answered. "You will certainly overtake them and succeed in the rescue."
